1. Visionary Leadership

ISTE coaching standard 1 requires that technology coaches help develop a shared vision for technology implementation and that they continue to communicate, implement, and evaluate that shared vision and their district’s strategic plans. ¬†Additionally, technology coaches must advocate for programs and policies relating to the developed technology plan, working to sustain it.

To show my competency in reaching this standard, I reflect on my experiences in getting to be a part of planning technology initiatives in my district.  Specifically, I discuss the work that I do in my technology mentor group.  I also include the my digital learning mission statement which has helped guide me as I develop my role as a technology coach.

a. Contribute to the development, communication, and implementation of a shared vision for the comprehensive use of technology to support a digital-age education for all students.
b. Contribute to the planning, development, communication, implementation, and evaluation of technology-infused strategic plans at the district and school levels.
c. Advocate for policies, procedures, programs, and funding strategies to support implementation of the shared vision represented in the school and district technology plans and guidelines.
d. Implement strategies for initiating and sustaining technology innovations and manage the change process in schools and classrooms.
